BUILD

The stage lifts, located at the side of the Stage, are used to transfer parts of the scenery that have been transported via the tunnel coming from the workshops. Capacity: up to 13 tonnes!

The stagehands, as well as being responsible for moving the sets, are also in charge of assembling and dismantling them.

The Trilogia Mozart Da Ponte (2020) was a real challenge for the stagehands, who spent six days assembling this three-floor building in which the action of the three operas would unfold (Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, and Così fan tutte).

In 2012, when it was first performed, the stage at La Monnaie had a 4% gradient. That gradient was eliminated during the renovation of the stage (2015–2017). For its revival, it was therefore necessary to replicate the gradient, the sets having been built accordingly.
